Who is responsible
OCR RS Revision is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. For a privacy question or request, use the form below.
Information collected
The free revision library does not require an account. If you submit a form, the site collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address, enquirer role, support type and message. If you use the AI essay reviewer, the selected question, essay text, marking-credit key and ordinary technical request information are processed to provide that review. Please do not include names, school details, contact details or other personal information in an essay.
How information is used
- Support enquiries are used to reply, discuss availability and keep a record of the conversation.
- Launch-list addresses are used for the one-off product notification requested on that form.
- Revision-tip addresses are used to send the recurring revision email the subscriber has explicitly requested.
- Privacy requests are used to identify and respond to the request.
Information is not sold. Product notifications and weekly revision tips use separate consent, and every recurring message should provide a straightforward unsubscribe route.
Netlify forms
This static site uses Netlify to host the website and process form submissions. Form data is therefore handled by Netlify as a service provider. Access should be limited to what is needed to run the site and respond to you.
Local storage and measurement
Theme preference, bookmarks, quiz results and revision progress are stored locally in your browser and are not sent through a site account. Commercial and support links carry placement labels so performance can be measured if a privacy-respecting analytics service is enabled later; this version does not load third-party behavioural analytics.
AI essay-review privacy
The essay-review function sends the selected question and essay text through Netlify's server-side AI Gateway to OpenAI in order to produce structured formative feedback. The request uses the API with persistent response storage disabled. Netlify states that its AI Gateway does not store prompts or model outputs. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in, but standard abuse-monitoring logs may contain prompts and responses and are normally retained for up to 30 days. Do not submit personal information, safeguarding disclosures, formal assessed work or material belonging to another person.
The full marking-credit key is sent only to Payhip's licence-verification service and is not included in the AI prompt. For convenience, the key is retained in this browser tab's session storage until the tab session ends; essay text and feedback are not added to that storage. A one-way digest derived from the key and connection is used as a safety identifier. The public site does not create a student account, store an essay history or use essay content for advertising or profiling.
This tool is intended for students aged 13 and over. Users under 18 should use it with the knowledge of a parent, guardian or teacher. If an essay contains urgent safeguarding information, do not rely on the AI reviewer; speak to a trusted adult or the appropriate support service.
Book-cover images
Reading-list pages request book-cover images from Open Library. That service receives ordinary technical request information such as your IP address and browser details under its own privacy practices. The covers are decorative and the reading lists still work if they are blocked.
Affiliate links
Links to Amazon are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to Amazon, which applies its own privacy and cookie policies. The site may receive a commission from a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you.
Retention and your rights
Support enquiry records are retained for no longer than 24 months unless a shorter period is appropriate or the law requires a longer one. Launch-list details should be deleted after the promised notification and any necessary follow-up; revision-tip details are retained until you unsubscribe or the list is closed. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time, ask for access, correction or deletion, restrict or object to certain uses, and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
